A Humbling Experience

Cao Cao!!

We bring more news! We had an awesome day today here with the youth in Prokuplje! This morning started with an awesome breakfast from Slavica. She is an amazing cook! Then we left Marijan's flat around 10:00 and got some treats and other supplies for the children's group. We are walking everywhere here and the church is a mile away from the flat. Marijan does not have a car and hot or cold, rain or shine, his family is serving in the church. What a true servant! At 11:00 we had the children's group and we had such a great time with them! Caitlin and I shared the message and all three of us taught the kids a song. The message was a little difficult learning at first because Caitlin and I have never heard the story before. The story was about Saul's grandson and Johnathen's son Mephibosheth. We studied the story and finally knew what we would say. We could not think of which song to teach the kids because all the songs we know have too many words. Slavica knew a simple English song and taught it to us. The kids really enjoyed the story and the English song!

That afternoon we went swimming with the youth. Remember how I talked about picking cherries? Well the youth picked cherries to earn money to pay for us, the kids, and the youth to go swimming. They worked so hard to do this! We were completely humbled! It was such an honor to be their guest and we are so grateful for it! In America, paying for someone's ticket to go swimming is nothing, but here in Prokuplje it something extremely special to a Roma people.

Before blogging I had another face slapping experience! Google 2 Corinthians 6:8-10 (I don't have very much time to type this post sorry!) But we don't suffer like this for the gospel in America!! Gah!! These people here are criticized ad rejected, yet they know that the true prize in this life is Christ! Please please don't miss this! This is what our lives should reflect. I know that before I came on this trip I took so many things for granted, but my life is forever changed! I hope and pray your lives are changing as well.

Continue to pray for Serbia!
